01 — The short version
How consent works
On your first visit, the cookie sheet offers Accept all and Reject all with equal prominence. Rejecting leaves optional analytics and call tracking off. Accepting allows both categories. The choice is saved in your browser so that we do not ask on every page.
Optional services are not loaded before the relevant permission is available. Google Consent Mode starts with analytics and advertising-related storage denied. FCET does not use this consent choice to grant advertising storage; the setting remains denied because the services described here are for measurement and call attribution, not advertising personalisation.
02 — Needed for operation
Essential storage
Essential browser storage supports functions you ask for and does not require optional consent. This can include session information needed by an interactive service, the state of a booking journey, security-related values and the consent choice itself. The consent record is stored under the name fcet-consent and records whether analytics and tracking were allowed, together with the time of the choice.
Essential storage may also remember practical details locally so that a booking flow can continue or a recently confirmed journey can be shown. These items are used to deliver the requested function, maintain security or remember your preference. Reject all does not disable storage that is strictly necessary for those purposes.
03 — Optional measurement
Google Analytics 4
Google Analytics 4 is optional and loads only after analytics consent. When enabled, it helps us understand activity such as page visits and whether important actions in the enquiry and booking process are completed. This can include technical information about the browser, device, approximate location and the route through the site.
The analytics setup is designed not to send these events when the Google Analytics identifier is absent or when analytics consent is denied. Analytics information helps identify broad patterns and service problems. It is not needed to request a quote, contact FCET or make a booking, and rejecting it does not prevent those actions.
04 — Optional call attribution
WhatConverts call tracking
WhatConverts is optional and its network loader runs only after tracking consent. It may connect an enquiry or telephone call with the source that led someone to contact FCET. Where configured, it may also support call recording. A caller should be given any notice required for recording at the start of the call.
The FCET telephone number remains visible and telephone links continue to work when tracking is rejected or unavailable. You do not need to allow WhatConverts to call us. If tracking consent is withdrawn after the service has loaded in the current page, the page reloads with that service disabled for future activity.
05 — Revisit the decision
How to change your choice
Use the Change cookie choices control to reopen the sheet, then choose Accept all or Reject all. The new decision replaces the saved fcet-consent value. Rejecting after an earlier acceptance stops the optional loaders after the refresh; accepting allows them from that point onwards.
You can also clear stored site data through your browser settings. That removes the saved choice, so the sheet will appear again on a later visit. Browser controls can block or delete storage more broadly, but doing so may also remove booking details or other information kept locally for a function you requested.
