01 — Before the journey
Choose the building, not only the airport
An airport name is not enough for a calm passenger handover. Heathrow has four active terminals, Gatwick has North and South, and the private aviation airfields around London use their own reception or handling instructions. These guides put the useful night-before details together: the public arrivals point where the chauffeur holds a name board, the departures set-down used for unloading, the walk into check-in or reception, and the place where passenger and car reunite for the onward journey. Each booking still carries its own confirmed instruction because signs, traffic controls and facility access can change.
Start with the terminal printed on the flight or the FBO named by the operator. Send the flight reference, passenger mobile, complete collection and destination addresses, group size, luggage and any handling note before confirmation. FCET tracks commercial arrivals, adjusts chauffeur timing when a flight is early or delayed, and includes 15 minutes of complimentary airport waiting. At an FBO, private airfield or heliport, the approved landside reception process replaces a general airline-arrivals instruction. In every case, the chauffeur meets at the agreed accessible point and confirms the onward address before the car leaves.
02 — Two different arrivals
Commercial halls and private reception
At a commercial terminal, the passenger normally completes baggage and border formalities before entering a public arrivals hall. At an FBO, airfield or heliport, the named handler or reception team controls the landside release. The booking follows the relevant process and makes no assumption of airside access.
For departures, set-down means unloading at the permitted point and continuing into the building. For a return, the arrivals greeting comes first and the vehicle is brought into the authorised pickup process afterwards. Keeping those two locations separate prevents a departures lane from being used as an arrivals waiting place.
