01 — Embarkation at the named terminal
Set-down and luggage at QEII Terminal
The booking records Berths 38/39, Eastern Docks, Southampton SO14 3GG. On sailing day the chauffeur follows current port signs to the signed QEII Terminal passenger drop-off in the Eastern Docks. The ship name, terminal, lead passenger mobile, number travelling and full case list remain together on the itinerary, so a general port pin cannot replace the terminal named on the ticket.
We plan from the boarding window on your ticket. The collection time allows for the drive, an agreed comfort stop and unloading before the baggage handover directed by the terminal team, with porter support where provided. Cases should carry the cruise line's labels before handover. The chauffeur helps unload the recorded luggage; responsibility then passes through the port or cruise line's own baggage process. Cunard, P&O Cruises, Princess and other Southampton callers may use the Eastern Docks; the sailing documents remain decisive.

03 — Journeys to the ship
Reading, Wokingham, London and Heathrow to Port of Southampton
From Reading, the planning guide is 50 miles · about 1 hour 15 minutes; from Wokingham it is 53.8 miles · about 1 hour 15 minutes. Central London is 82.1 miles · about 2 hours, while Heathrow is 68.4 miles · about 1 hour 20 minutes. These figures begin at the named centre or airport and finish at the terminal; the complete street address and traffic on the day still shape collection.
The route leaves the M3 for Southampton's A33 and follows Eastern Docks signs onward to the QEII berth area. A pickup from Heathrow also records the arriving flight and terminal, but port timing continues to follow the ship's boarding window. London hotel loading, Berkshire home collections and a second passenger address are added before the departure plan is fixed. XL or estate capacity is assessed against every person and case, including mobility equipment and unusual bags.

05 — Passenger and luggage
One itinerary from the door to the ship
The vehicle plan includes every traveller and case. At the terminal, the chauffeur unloads at the permitted set-down and the port's baggage process takes over.
06 — Disembarkation and the return
A message-led collection from QEII Terminal
For the return, the car waits lawfully outside the active terminal lanes until it can use the QEII landside pickup location agreed after the passenger has all luggage. The chauffeur sends the agreed message, and the passenger replies after leaving the ship, completing any required formalities and reclaiming all luggage. That contact determines the final approach; docking time alone does not mean the travelling party is ready at the kerb.
If the ship docks early or late, we adjust on the day from the passenger's message. FCET does not claim to track ships. The onward booking still identifies the destination, fixed connections and any intermediate stop. A delayed release is handled through direct contact, while an early ready message allows the office and chauffeur to review the lawful collection sequence without promising immediate access to a controlled port road.
