01 — Approaching the venue

The road and set-down at ExCeL

The Berkshire journey enters east London through the M4 corridor and city roads before joining the A13. ExCeL directs venue-car-park traffic through the A112 and Royal Albert Way, with no car-park access from Western Gateway or Seagull Lane, so the exact movement type matters. The full pickup address and requested arrival are checked before dispatch, leaving room for the slower final section of a busy venue journey.

For a normal passenger handover, ExCeL publishes its west taxi rank as the drop-off and pickup area. The chauffeur follows traffic staff there and records whether the visitor needs the west or east entrance, because the long campus can add a substantial indoor walk. Any pass, organiser email or accessibility note should be supplied with the booking because a permanent street address cannot describe temporary event controls.

02 — Arrival sequence

Five steps to the entrance at ExCeL

  1. The chauffeur checks the current event travel instruction.
  2. Passengers and belongings are collected from every booked address.
  3. Temporary signs and stewards guide the final vehicle approach.
  4. The party leaves at the permitted set-down point.
  5. Guests follow the confirmed route to their entrance.

03 — While guests are inside

Waiting and collection at ExCeL

The vehicle clears the taxi rank after unloading and waits only in a lawful booked or public area away from the active lane. Exhibitor loading has separate timed access and is not used for delegate set-down unless the event organiser has issued the correct vehicle pass. The office retains the lead passenger, planned finish and onward address while the chauffeur monitors the agreed contact channel.

The west taxi-rank landmark, passenger name and hall exit are stored before the event. When a conference or exhibition closes, the driver verifies the queue and messages the precise position so delegates do not walk the campus length while looking for a moving car. Event finishes are variable, so the collection window allows for the walk, stewarded release and loading before the road journey resumes.

06 — Across the calendar

Fixtures, roads and onward travel from ExCeL

ExCeL hosts exhibitions, congresses, consumer shows and corporate programmes throughout the year. The dated event guide concentrates on a confirmed organiser schedule; this venue reference remains useful for the campus approach, entrance choice and return handover between events. Royal Victoria Dock Road, the A13 and nearby tunnels can queue after a busy closing time. The chauffeur loads presentation bags and overnight cases at the permitted point, then leaves by the directed route for Canary Wharf, a London hotel or Berkshire.

Reading, Wokingham and central London planning figures are listed with the journey links, together with nearby hotel starting points. They are broad road guides for the named centres. Journey cost is confirmed at booking from the complete addresses, event timings, passenger count and vehicle requirement.
